INTRODUCING A Telescopic Maxillary Expander for Rapid Palatal Expansion

THE SUPERscrew ORTHOdesign has introduced a remarkable new type of maxillary expansion device, THE SUPERscrew, which features activation from the front of the mouth with a familiar hex wrench which is safer and easier to use. This eliminates the need for parents searching for the traditional pin-hole or swinging the pin toward the back of the patient's throat to activate the appliance. In addition this appliance features transverse attachment wires which allow it to fit in the narrowest of cases while providing the greatest expansion of any expander on the market (up to 18mm). This eliminates the need for ever remaking an appliance to achieve full orthopedic expansion.
THE SUPERscrew also has a clearly inscribed scale which allow the Orthodontist and the parent to read the exact amount of expansion achieved. This feature is particularly reassuring to mothers who often have some insecurity about "splitting the childs maxilla" and are usually requested to attempt to keep track of the activation achieved to prevent the possibility of expanding the traditional appliances to the point where they come apart and fail.
THE SUPERscrew is reassuring to the mother because she has the readout on the scale to show her that she is doing her part properly at all times. For the Orthodontist it is reassuring to be able to see at a glance the exact amount of expansion and have a scale to clearly indicate to the mother the remaining expansion to be achieved. Furthermore, THE SUPERscrew does not come apart until after warning threads have been reached and surpassed (22mm). Another feature of the expander is the rounded contour which makes it easy to reach around with a toothbrush, making it the most hygienic expander on the market and the most comfortable.
THE SUPERscrew now has a special friction coating which prevents back-turning and is guaranteed to activate properly. A special locking nut is an optional feature for securing the expander at the end of activation. ORTHOdesign maintains that THE SUPERscrew, with its unique combination of features and pictorial instructions for the laboratory and the parent, will save chair time in expansion cases resulting in dollar savings for the orthodontist.
